Every Election Year

I have decided to never vote again in any election. Our system is broken. Politicians have to sell out to special interest groups and the rich in order to be elected. If they don’t sell out to the special interest groups and the rich, those people with the money instead use the money they would have given the politician to campaign against them. Politicians sell out our country to the rich who have the money. The rich end up owning our government and have the politicians in their pocket, under their control. It is all a catch twenty-two situations. Those who would be right for the job are never elected. Our system is broken beyond repair.

There was a female Republican Candidate running for the Republican Presidential nomination. She was interviewed by Charlie Rose. He asked her what got you into politics? She replied that she heard it was a good way to make money. That is the worst reason to run for office. Public office should be held as a service to help the country and the people, not for the sake of money.

Even Obama proved himself to be just a Politician. Instead of acting as the President and sending in the US Navy to deal with that oil spill, he let BP handle it. He let it linger on as they collected oil by skimming the surface of the water. BP just cared about collection oil to sell and not fixing the whole mess. Obama bowed down to the oil company. Of course, the Republicans would have bowed down to the oil company as well for they are no better.

In my painting I have Mr. Monopoly controlling the Democrats and the Republicans as his puppets. Their pockets are filled with his money. The Third Party candidate is broke and “Will Run For Office For Food.” He is just standing on a soap box and doesn’t get to stand with the other candidates on the Political Stage. He does have a microphone like the other candidates but it is not plugged in. Even if he did have the support of the people like the other candidates, he would probably just get bribed away by Mr. Monopoly’s money as well. The American people are mindless zombies in my painting, they don’t know any better. The American flag has the dollar sign in the canton. America is not about freedom, just profit at all costs.

My advice to all the rest of the people in the United States, Just stop voting all together. Stop playing that "game" because you can't win. The rich will just put their puppets in public office anyway, no matter who you vote for. The rich, AKA, the Classless Elite are who own America. They like in the game of Monopoly have bought up everything and everyone already. The Oil Barrons, Wall Street Men, Rockafellers, etc. are our lords and masters. We should do as they say so the hired guns of the police don't haul us away.

I had a college professor that said, "There have been so many people that have fought and died in the past, it is our civic duty to vote." Well in a Democracy everyone has a choice, I chose to protest the broken system by never voting again. Too bad we live in a Republic and not a democracy.

I gave this painting away to the Blackwater Cafe so they could sell it for art supplies for their Tuesday night art get together. I heard that the same person that bought this painting also bought "Occupy Wall Street".
